Saint Jude students

SAINT JUDE STUDENTS GO FOR THE GOLD-Saint Jude students in Kindergarten through Third grades took part in the Saint Jude Olympics this past week, competing in events and earning medals along the way. Students have already taken part in the Hopping and Sliding events earning gold, silver and bronze medals for their efforts. Events in Running and Skipping will take place in the next rounds of competition. Along with medal ceremonies, the children were treated to an Opening Ceremony led by special flag bearers. Being a Saint Jude flag bearer is an honor and tradition at the school. Children who are chosen have exhibited the qualities of understanding, compassion, and respect for their classmates. Flag bearers get to lead their class around the Gym, just as the Olympic flag bearers lead their teams into the various arenas. Flag bearers are each presented with certificates to celebrate and commemorate their accomplishment. Students in Grades K-3 display their Olympic Flag Bearer certificates, from left: 3rd grade Flag Bearer Jacob Hunsinger, 2nd grade Flag Bearer Clare Grandzol, 1st Grade Flag Bearer Alivia Sweet, and Kindergarten Flag Bearer Elizabeth Decowski.
