Crestwood Area Community Education (CACE) will be starting Spring classes March 7 through May 16. Brochures are available at the Kirby Library and the Post Office lobby in Mountain Top; and Post Office lobbies and public libraries in White Haven, Freeland and Conyngham. The Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Mountain Post 781, Mountaintop is sponsoring a Ham and Cabbage Dinner, March 10, from 4-7:30 p. m., at the post home 1550 Henry Drive, Mountaintop. Dine in or take out. The meal includes ham, potatoes, cabbage, green beans, rolls, dessert and beverage. Cost for the dinner is $10 age 12-adult, $5 children age 6-11, children 5 years old and under are free. Come and enjoy this traditional Irish meal with your friends and neighbors. Join us for a Designer Bingo on Saturday, March 11th in the Crestwood High School Cafeteria featuring 20 games of Bingo plus 3 Specials. Doors open at Noon with Bingo beginning at 1 p. m. Total cost is $20 and be purchased at P&D Pets, Triangle Pharmacy and Design Works. Prizes will feature purses by Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Coach and Tory Bruch. Raffles and refreshments will be available for sale. The event will benefit the Wright Township Dog Park.
The Mountain Top Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, March 13th at 6:30 p. m. at the Rice Township municipal building. This is our kick off meeting for 2018! The meeting will feature a presentation by Mary Jo Gibson, a Penn State Extension Master Gardener, on “Bloodsuckers.” We will learn about mosquitos and ticks, what repellants to use, and what you can do once bitten. Come join other Mountain Top area residents who have an interest in gardening and nature. The Garden Club meeting is open to the public and new members are always welcome!
