it with paint or seashells to make a new photo frame to use or give as a gift. Others use the frames in other ways, like to hang wires and clips across, to hold notes, jewelry, or loose photos. Others attach foamboard and make a post-it center or a menu board for the kitchen.

“It really does go the full gamut in what people will make,” she noted. “People usually have a lot of frames around the house that they’re not using anymore. Now they can take the frame and make something totally new.”

At her class, Charlene will provide all the supplies needed for students to realize their creative visions, such as paint, seashells and sand, wire, foamboard, and hot glue guns. The students, she added, “don’t have to walk in here with anything.”

Other classes

Also new to CACE is “Intro to Uncial Calligraphy,” a concept that is over 2,000 years old and perfect for the beginning calligraphy student. Taught by Debra Dick, the two-part class will start with basic strokes and move to beautiful letterforms. Spacing and basic layout will be taught, as well as different calligraphy tools and materials. Students will end the class will a finished piece that could be framed. The class runs on two Tuesdays, starting March 13, from 6 to 9 p. m., and the cost is $35.

Another new class offered at CACE this spring is an eight-week fitness course taught by Danielle Petros. “P90X Live for All Fitness Levels” offers full-body strength training, cardio drills, and core work in a team environment. Beginning on March 7, and running for eight Wednesdays, from 7 to 8 p. m., in the middle school cafeteria, the cost for the class is $40. Participants need to bring two sets of dumbbells: light and heavy, a mat, water, and a towel.

For fitness, there’s also a yoga class, basketball, tai chi, nutrition and weight loss, and “Joy Thru Movement,” a new exercise class for people over age 50, which replaces the previous “Fabulous Fifties” class.

Also offered are computer and android classes for beginners, massage therapy, card making with rubber stamps, working with crystal energy, crochet, mesh wreath making, essential oils, muscle testing, numerology, and photography.
