The congregation of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Mountain Top extends a warm invitation to participate in this coming week’s Worship and Service opportunities.
Pastor Michele D. Kaufman leads Sunday worship services, at St. Paul’s, at 8:30 a. m. and 11:00 a. m. Holy Communion will be offered, at both services, on Sunday, March 17th and 31st. The church office, (570-474-6616) is open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a. m. to 12:30 p. m.
Sunday school is held at 9:30 a. m., with a nursery being provided for infants through kindergarten, at the 11:00 a. m. worship service. An Adult Sunday School is held between services. The Adult Choir rehearses every Sunday at 9:30 a. m., in the choir room, and the Bell Choir rehearses every Thursday at 6:00 p. m.
Lenten services are being held each Wednesday of Lent. There are two services, one at 11 a. m. and another at 7 p. m. All are invited to attend the Potluck Luncheon following the morning service, and desserts following the evening service. The message of March 20th will be, “How Can I Ever Change?”
In preparation for the annual Easter Egg hunt, young people are invited to attend a pizza and dyeing the eggs event on Wednesday, March 20th at 5:00.
Orders from St. Paul’s Hoagie
Gang need to be picked up on Thursday morning, March 21st. The cost of the hoagies is $3.50 each. The sign-up sheet is on the narthex bulletin board.
Pysanky egg classes at St. Paul’s, are being held on Sundays, from 2 p. m. to 5 p. m., until Palm Sunday, March 24th. Beginners are welcome! There is a one-time cost of $6.00 for materials and supplies.
Order forms for Easter flowers are located on the table next to the Pastor’s office and on the table next to the entrance to the sanctuary. Cost of the flowers is $7.50 each. Orders and money need to be turned into the church secretary. The deadline for ordering is Sunday, March 24th.
St. Paul’s “Book of Faith” Bible study series will be held at 7 p. m. on Monday, March 25th.
A Maundy Thursday will be held on March 28th at 7 p. m. Several youth will be receiving the First Holy Communion. A Maundy Thursday Dinner will be held at 5:30 p. m. A Tenebrae Service will be held on Good Friday, March 29th at 7:00 p. m. Easter services will be held at 8:30 a. m. and 11 a. m. Renew your Christian faith by attending as many of these special events as you can.
The Metropolitan Lutheran Council of Wyoming Valley is again offering support to the VA Hospital during the Lenten Season. Donations of the following items are requested: toothpaste; tooth brushes; disposable razors; shaving cream (3 oz. size); after shave lotion (3 oz. size); body wash (no bar soap); deodorant; chap stick; small packs of tissues; shampoo (without conditioner); hair brushes, combs; socks. Please, no items in glass containers. The collection deadline is Easter Sunday, March 31st.
Unwanted cell phones are being collected for the Orphan Grain Train. A box for them is located on the table by the Pastor’s office.
