The Crestwood Middle School Odyssey of the Mind team has been invited to compete at the 34th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals Competition which will be held at Michigan State University on May 22nd-May 25th.
The Crestwood team was awarded 1st place in Division II, Problem #3: “ARTchitecture: The Musical”, at the Odyssey of the Mind PA State Competition on Sat. April 13th held at Pocono Mountain East High School, which qualifies them to compete at the World Finals Competition. The team will represent the Crestwood School District and the state of Pennsylvania as they compete against teams across the United States but also teams from around the World.
Fundraising efforts are underway to help fund the team’s trip to the World Finals Competition. The team members and their parents are sponsoring several “Michigan or BUST” fundraisers. A “Happy Hour” will be held on Fri. May 17th from 7pm –9pm at the Dorrance Inn. Tickets are a $20 donation and will include: Pizza, wings, Stromboli, draft beer, wine and soda. A separate basket of cheer raffle is also being held to support the team. The First prize is the “Nothing but the Top Shelf” basket. The Runner up prize is the “No Sour Grapes” wine basket. Ticket donations are: $5 a ticket or 3 tickets for $10. Last year, the team respectfully placed 15th out of 58 teams at the World Finals competition which was held at Iowa State University.
