Crestwood cruised to a 6-1 win in girls’ softball in a game against visiting Coughlin on May 6.
Alyssa Davies was the winning pitcher for the lady Comets. Davies pitched a complete game two-hitter, fanning 10 to lead Crestwood to the win. Davies also had two singles and an RBI.
Ashlee Olenginski powered Crestwood with a double and two RBIs.
Mel Snyder had three hits, including a triple, and Julie Wotherspoon chipped in with a double. Ashley Casem singled and scored a run.
Hazleton Area dominated visiting Crestwood, cruising to an 8-0 shut out victory on May 9. With the win, Hazleton captured the WVC Division I championship.
In boys’ baseball, Crestwood lost to visiting Pittston Area on May 7 by a score of 7-2.
Curt Yenchik was a bright spot for the Comets with two hits.
Matt Kaster was the losing pitcher for Crestwood.
On May 9, Crestwood was shutout by host Wyoming Valley West, 3-0.
Valley West broke open the scoreless game in the bottom of the sixth inning to grab the win.
Markwoski was the losing pitcher. He doubled for the Comets. Ministeri also had a hit in the losing effort.
+++++ Crestwood’s boys’ lacrosse team dominated host North Pocono en route to an 18-1 win on May 7.
For the Comets, Steven Roberts scored five goals and had five assists while Jay Popson scored five goals and added an assist. Brian Collins followed with four goals and six assists.
Also tallying goals for the winners were Ryan Magin with two, and Kally Kalada had one.
Bailey Bauman had 11 saves for Crestwood.

was runner-up to Abington Heights in the Wyoming Valley Conference District 2 Class AAA team tennis championships played May 7. Final score was 3-0.
Crestwood advanced to the finals by defeating Delaware Valley, 3-1, in the semifinals.
At the singles position, Alex Machalik defeated Carl Pallini in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
Crestwood swept in doubles as they teams of Neil Patel/Nikhil Patel and Briley Marchetti and Jacob Popowycz won their matches in straight sets.
