Kirby Library Lists August Events

The Marian Sutherland Kirby Library, 35 Kirby Avenue, Mountaintop, announces the following activities for the month of August:

Childrens: Searching Beneath our Feet will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at 6pm. Use a metal detector in the library and find buried treasure!

Dig through tunnels in the library at our Burrowers program! August 15 at 11am.

Join our little Lego club and enjoy Lego free play at the library! August 28 at 1pm

Learn all about Egyptian Cartouches and make your own! August 30 at 2pm.

Bring your child, ages 6 months to 2 years, to the library for a lapsit. Enjoy books, songs, and rhymes with your child! August 24 at 11am.

Teens: Join us for Open Mic Night on Wednesday, August 14 at 6pm. For teens only! Ages 12 –17. Come share your talent or be part of the audience and be entertained by your peers! Prize drawings for the Teen Summer Reading Program will take place at this event.

Adults and Seniors: New! Starting this month, we will have free computer classes for seniors 55 and over. Beginning August 15 at 2pm. Space is limited. This is a very basic computer skills class –beginners only!

We are starting a monthly eReader class! Bring in your eReader/tablet and learn how to download ebooks! We’ll try to answer any of your questions. August 21 at 6pm.

We are hosting an AARP Driving Safety Class on Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23. You must attend both classes. The cost is $14, $12 for AARP members. Payment is due at the first class in the form of a check or money order made out to AARP.

Cancer Prevention with Dr. Dan! Dr. Dan is back with another exciting program! Join us on Tuesday, August 27 at 6:30 and learn the steps to cancer-proofing your body.
