Wyoming Sem Students Receive Mock Trial Camp Awards

Three Wyoming Seminary students recently attended Penn State’s First Annual Mock Trial Summer Camp held at State College.

The students, all members of Sem’s Mock Trial team, participated in teams to try three cases and gain experience in preparing for and taking part in mock trial competitions.

Each student received an award at the end of the camp: sophomore Samarth Desai of Shavertown received the Outstanding Attorney Award, sophomore Nicole Wert of Mountain Top received the Outstanding Witness (Honorable Mention) Award and senior Alxis Boyle of Canadensis received the Outstanding Attorney (Honorable Mention) Award. Boyle also was a member of the team that won the camp tournament.

Two other Sem students, senior William Kozar of Clarks Summit and sophomore Sara Edgar of Coopersburg, attended the annual Mock Trial Academy, held at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. They were among a group of 30 students from across the country taking part in the Academy in June.
