Go FlyAKite This SaturdayAt St. Martin’s

The FIRST ANNUAL MOUNTAIN TOP KITE FESTIVAL is just days away. Keep your fingers crossed for fair weather for Saturday September 28th. If on the off chance it rains, the Festival  has October 5 as its rain date.

Be prepared for a great time. Your children will love building and decorating their very own kite. Then they get to FLY it. When they are waiting for their turn to construct their kite they can enjoy the face painter, bounce house, and balloon man. There will be a fire engine and firemen for them to meet and investigate. There will be plenty of food for sale in the ambulance building. Prepared by the parishioners and friends of St. Martin in the Fields. Tours of our Little Stone Church will be available.

Just to watch the kite which your child has made sent soaring into the blue sky will become one of your favorite moments.

Craft makers are needed for our Annual Bazaar on October 19th. There will be a limited number of tables inside the building, but there is plenty of space outside and in the pavilion. Reserve early for choice spots. Call Janeann at 570-868-6895 to reserve one or more tables.

The Book Nook is overflowing with great reading material and more is arriving almost daily. We will have the Book Nook open on the second and third Saturdays of September and October, and at the Bazaar. We plan on opening it more often later in the fall.

Interested in learning something new? Father Dan Fitzsimmons is planning on teaching classes in knitting or quilt making this fall depending on which generates the most interest. If you are interested in one or both of these classes lets us know by calling Janeann at 570-868-6895.
