In Wyoming Valley Conference girls’ soccer, Crestwood lost to visiting Pittston Area, 4-3 on September 16.
Gabby Termini scored two goals for the lady Comets and Olivia Termini scored one goal and had an assist.
Megan White had 12 saves for Crestwood.
The lady Comets only managed one goal in their 4-1 loss to host Lake-Lehman on September 18.
Natalie Sulkowski scored the lone goal off an assist by Termini.
White saved 17 in the loss.
Crestwood was shutout 4-0 by visiting Dallas in a game played September 19.
White and McKenna Mera combined for 13 saves in the Crestwood goal.
The Crestwood boys’ soccer team romped to an 8-1 win over host Pittston Area on September 17.
Matt Wimpheimer scored a hat trick to lead the Comets. John Andrews scored two goals. Sam Scozneicki, Kyle Gegaris and Dylan Perrone also scored for the winners.
Crestwood had 23 shots on goal while holding Pittston to six in the lopsided victory.
On September 18, Dallas edged host Crestwood, 2-0. Wimpheimer scored the Comets’ only goal, from Casey Ritsick.
Keeper Lance Lysiak saved three. ++++
In field hockey, Crestwood continued to win last week, remaining atop the WVC Division I Class AA standings.
Crestwood scored a 4-0 shutout victory over host Valley West on September 16.
In a balanced scoring attack, Lady Comets’ Casey Cole, Ashleigh Thomas, Marissa Surdy and Hunter Pittman each recorded a goal.
Lizzie Dessoye and Maury Cronauer each had an assist.
Keeper Moore blocked 13 shots for Crestwood.
On September 18, Crestwood romped to a 4-1 win over visiting Holy Redeemer. Surdy scored two goals for the lady Comets and assisted on another. Surdy scored unassisted at 15:53 in the first half and again at 5:36 in the second.
Also adding to the final Crestwood tally were Morgan Kile and Ashleigh Thomas.
Dallas Kendra had three saves for the lady Comets.
The Crestwood girls’ tennis team suffered their first loss of the season in the WVC Class AAA competition when host Holy Redeemer upended the lady Comets to win 3-2 on September 17.
Kristi Bowman and Brittany Stanton won at the singles spots but the lady Royals swept in doubles.
Crestwood rebounded with a 5-0 shutout win over visiting Berwick on September 19.
In singles, Bowman, Stanton and Jen Snyder recorded straight set wins.
In doubles, the Crestwood teams of Stephanie Maichin/Christine Maichin, and Rebecca Price/Stacie Snyder were victorious.

For Crestwood, Billy Dombroski earned medalist honors with 38. Joe Hurn shot a 42. Joe Grandinetti and Seth Korch each carded 50.
Crestwood defeated Hazleton Area, 180-183, at par 36 Sugarloaf Golf Course on September 20.
