The Crestwood High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in a cluster meet at MMI Prep Oct. 25 . The boys team went 3-0, while the girls team went 1-1.
The boys team beat GAR 15-50; Pittston Area 15-50; and Wyoming Area 19-36 to improve to 9-2 overall.
Nick McGuire was second overall in the meet and first for the Comets in 18:17; while Brian Knorr was 2nd for Crestwood and 7th overall in 19:27. Raj Patel took third for the Comets and was ninth in 19:42. Steven Ross was fourth for Crestwood and 17th overall in 20:20, while Sean Gavin was fifth for the team in 20:29.
The girls beat Wyoming Area 18-37 and lost to Pittston Area 23-32 and are now 7-3 on the year.
Allie Kachel led Crestwood taking sixth in the meet in 21:53 with Kailee Traficante seventh overall and second for the Comets in 21:56. Also, Megan Knorr was third for Crestwood and 15th overall in 24:23, while April Panas was fourth for the team in 25:59 with Ashley Paranich fifth for Comets in 26:24.
Some members of the team also competed last Saturday at the NE PA High School Invitational at Bloomsburg University.
For the boys Nick McGuire was 22nd in a field of 189 in a time of 18:04, while Raj Patel was 83rd in 19:32. Robbie Shovlin also ran finishing in 22:24.
For the girls Allie Kachel was 23rd in a field of 180 in 21:21 with Kailee Traficante 28th in 21:36. Also competing was Ashley Paranich who ran 25:51; April Panas 26:03 and Katie Snipas 27:10.
