ST. JUDE SCHOOL RACE FOR EDUCATION

ST. JUDE SCHOOL RACE FOR EDUCATION--Preparations for the annual Race for Education were underway at St. Jude School. Sponsored by the Parent Teacher Guild, the Race for Education is the principal fundraiser for the Guild with proceeds being used for PTG projects including enrichment programs, field trips, and educational materials for the students. Parents volunteered their time to come into the classrooms and assist students in addressing letters to family and friends, asking them to sponsor the student on the day of the Race, which was October 4. Classes will be scheduled at various times to complete the course as many times as possible during the allotted time. The day will also feature face painting and bead collecting on a lap-counting key chain. Each student will also receive a St. Jude School sports water bottle for participating, compliments of the PTG. The goal for this year is $16,000. Anyone who would like to make a donation to this endeavor is invited to contact the school office at 570-474-5803. Shown clockwise from left, working on the letters are: Olivia Bilbow, Aahyan Sayed, Alicia Gomba, Carly Glaser, Tonya Novelli, Susan Hagenbuch, and Francesca Basalyga.
