Steven Klem spoke to Wilkes University students and area teachers on Oct. 15 as part of the Drs. Robert S. and Judith A. Gardner Educational Forum Series on the University’s campus. Klem discussed the topics of teacher contracts, certification, evaluation, substitute teaching, retirement and teacher association membership.
Klem is a high school social studies teacher and the vice president of the Pennsylvania State Teachers Association in the Wyoming Valley West School District.
Throughout the fall 2013 semester, the Gardner Forum Series will bring speakers to Wilkes University to discuss educational topics. All lectures are free and open to the public. Teachers can earn Act 48 credit for attending. Future lectures will address such topics and teaching and living in Russia and cyberbullying.
