Caroline Jones Crowned Miss Northeastern Pennsylvania
MISS NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA Caroline Jones of Mountaintop recently received her crown in the preliminary competition of the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Pageants.

Caroline Jones of Mountaintop was recently crowned Miss Northeastern Pennsylvania in NEPA’s official preliminary competition of the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Pageants.

The Miss American Organization, a not-for-profit organization for young women ages 17 to 24, is the largest provider of scholarships for young women and the most popular and prestigious pageant system in the world. The Miss America Organization provides opportunities for women to serve their communities, develop life-long skills, and gain recognition of accomplishments and talents.

Caroline will represent Northeastern Pennsylvania at the Miss Pennsylvania pageant next Jun in Pittsburg. She will spend her year as Miss NEPA by serving her community and promoting Miss America’s national platform, the Children’s Miracle Network, as well as her own platform, “Read to Succeed” which advocates the importance of early childhood reading and literacy.

Caroline, 17, is a senior at Holy Redeemer High School. She is an honor student and recently authored, illustrated, and published her own children’s book, One More Book, Please. Caroline is a 2013 graduate of Junior Wilkes-Barre Leadership, an Ambassador Girl Scout, and President of the Teen Advisory Group at Kirby Library. She is very involved in numerous activities at St. Jude Church and in school, including the chorus, theatre, and Student Government.

She is the daughter of Janet and Bill Jones.
