Local Authors To Read At Story Time

Join three local children’s authors at the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library as they read from their original works.

On Saturday, December 7 starting at 1:30pm, the library will welcome authors Jodie Moore, Denise Kaminsky, and Caroline Jones. Children can enjoy the unique experience of having a story time with actual authors! In addition there will also be a children’s craft and a small snack time. Authors will be available at the end of the event to answer any questions and signed copies of each book will be available for purchase.

Jodi Moore writes picture books and YA novels and hopes to challenge and inspire readers to open up to brand new worlds and encourage new ways of thinking. She is also the author of the popular children’s books Good News Nelson and When A Dragon Moves In.

Denise Kaminsky’s popular Nittany Lion children’s book series is easy to read and filled with fun illustrations that capture the imagination of young readers. Her stories are especially great for any Penn State fans. Her latest book is Nittany Lion Tells the Legend of Princess Nit-A-Nee.

Seventeen year old Caroline Jones recently wrote, illustrated, and published the children’s book, “One More Book Please” to encourage young children to share in her passion. Caroline plans to donate proceeds from her book to provide books and educational materials for young children through charitable organizations and to bring awareness to the importance of childhood literacy.
