Mildred Nichols, 94, died December 11, 2013, at Mountain Top Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she was a resident for the past few years. Formerly she resided in Parsons for most of her life.
She was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Fred and Jane Bell Nichols.
She was a graduate of Coughlin High School and was formerly employed for many years by Consolidated Cigar, Wilkes-Barre, and later was a housekeeper at First Eastern Bank, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Nichols, and brothers, Raymond, Fred, Harry, John, William and infant Earl.
Surviving are her son, Dwight Nichols and his wife, Kathy, Mountain Top; granddaughters, Jill Bienias and her husband, Mark, Amy Eichler and her husband, Keith, Lynn Anderson and her husband, Roger, and Mandy Vencak and her husband, Rod; grandson, Jeff and his wife, Lynda; six great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons and two great-great-grandsons.
