A blood pressure screening is scheduled Friday, December 27 at 11 a. m. at the Mountaintop Active Adult Center, located on S. Main Rd. in Wright Township. For more information call the center at (570) 868-8517. The center is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 2 pm.
A service for healing and wholeness will be held December 29 at 3:45pm. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 613 W. County Road, Wapwallopen. Mountaintop Family Church will host an After School Club on Tuesdays, January 7, 14 & 21. ALL children in our community in grades 1 to 6 can be dropped off from 3:40 to 4pm and picked up at 5pm at the church. The children will have free play time with ping pong, air hockey, Legos, basketball shoot, games and more. Children will choose from the following clubs: Crafts, Stomp, Cup Stacking or Lego Robotics. The Rice Elementary PTA will not be meeting in the month of December. The PTA will resume with their monthly meeting on Tuesday January 7th at 6:00 pm in the school’s library. The White Haven Area Community Library will launch its own version of the popular “Princess Teas” as part of its new programs for 2014. On Sunday, January 19, the library will sponsor a “Character Party” for children ages three and older at the White Haven Methodist Church hall from 1:30-3:30. Children from three to five must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets, which are appropriate as stocking stuffers or gifts, are available for $20.00 at the library, located at 99 Towanda Street in White Haven.
