St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Gerald Shantillo, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.
The parish office will close New Year’s Eve at noon and will be closed January 1. In case of emergency please call 474.6315 and follow the prompts for emergency. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Reminder: January 1, 2014 is Mary, The Holy Mother of God and is a Holy Day of Obligation.

Saint Theresa’s Guild will meet Tuesday, January 14 at 7 pm in the dining room. Ladies will planning their Valentine Luncheon at this meeting. The ladies of the guild work for the benefit of the children of our parish. To join the Guild or for more information please call Julia Vencak 570.379.3034.
Altar & Rosary Communion Sunday is January 19 at 9 am. The next general meeting is Monday, January 20 at 7 pm. in the dining room. All ladies of the parish are invited to join the Altar & Rosary Society. Questions: Michele 570.868.0169
The Youth Group meeting is Sunday, January 12 from 5-8pm in the social hall. We will have our annual Christmas Dinner and Party. All are invited!
The youth group is collecting new or clean, softly used coats and blankets for Saint Vincent de Paul’s. All sizes needed -children and adults. Boxes will be in the social hall lobby
Toiletries are still being collected for families, specifically children, teens & young adults. Soap, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo & conditioner, shaving cream, deodorant, body lotion, and any other personal hygiene items. Baskets are under the tree by the cry room.
The Sanctuary Candle is available “in memory of’ or “in honor of” a friend or loved. Suggested donation is $5 per week. Many weeks available for 2014.
The next meeting of our newly established Social Justice Program is Wednesday, January 8 at 7pm in the meeting room. All are invited!!
It is time to start thinking about cold weather. The crochet group will again be making hats, scarves, and gloves for those in need. A Nite at the Races meeting on Wednesday, January 15 at 7pm. in the dining room. All are invited to help plan this fun fund raiser!!

The 2014 Calendars are available in the back of the church. and at the side entrances. These calendars are made available by the generous donation of Sam Desiderio (Funeral Home).
The 2014 Offertory Envelopes are in the social hall. If possible, please lend a hand by distributing remaining envelopes to your family and friends.
The Pro-Life Center in Wilkes-Barre is in need of hand made white baby blankets to be given to babies for their Baptism. They may be dropped off at the Church or the Center.
Our parish if participating in the Loaves and Fishes Program to benefit the Saint Vince de Paul Soup Kitchen. This month’s item is Baked Beans. Donation baskets are in Church.
