The mostly rural community met, as all townships did, on Monday January 6, 2014 and conducted both the Reorganization meeting and the first regular meeting of the new year.
Chairman Gary Zane moved Vice Chair Royce Engler and Supervisor Bill Wengrzynek through an orderly agenda which concluded with the retention of all principal officers.
Secretary Treasurer Patricia Davis was retained along with Roadmaster Todd Badman; Zoning Officer Alan Snelson; John Jenkins as Sewage Enforcement Officer. Gwen Sakowski will continue to serve as the Emergency Management Coordinator. Professional advisors Solicitor Donald Karpowich and Township Engineer Pennoni Associates and Alfred Benesch as alternate engineer were also reappointed. Joe Osieki was appointed as Vacancy Board member.
Zoning Hearing Board veteran Mary Petros was retained. James Brando was appointed. Dale Ann Buchanan was named as a Zoning Hearing Board Alternate. Charles Pedri was appointed legal counsel to the Zoning Hearing Board.
Bill Wengrzynek was returned to the Planning Commission, joined by George Rusczyk and Jim Martinchek.
Taxes were retained at a millage rate of .0064 for 2014.
Meetings will be held the second Monday of each month at 7 pm.
In the regular meeting, the board approved “Resolution #1 of 2014 approving the inter-municipal transfer of Liquor License R-3338/ LID #27610 per the application of John L. Schenck t/a J LMarket, LLC for property located at 7896 Blue Ridge Trail, Wapwallopen.”
The approval for the transfer was unanimous.
A donation of $250 was approved to the Crestwood High School PTSA for the Senior lock-in to be held on June 11, 2014.
And, finally, the Recycling Center received $53.50 in donations and a total of 549 cars passed through the center.
