Christian Concert Set Feb. 22 At St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

The congregation of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Mountain Top encourages you to join them for worship this week.

Sunday Church School begins at 9:30 am.

Pastor Michele D. Kaufman leads Sunday worship services at St. Paul’s at 8:30 am, and 11:00 am. The Church office (570-474-6616) is open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The Organist/Director is Christine Katsock.

Pastor Kaufman is in the office Mondays from 10 am –2 pm.

The 2nd Christian Concert Series as promised will be held at St. Paul’s Church, Sat., Feb. 22, from 6:30-8 pm. Making A Difference Ministries will present 2nd part free concert series will feature Richard John Lutz, a local recording artist from Northeastern, PA.

The church is hosting this concert and is open to the public and there is no cost for admission. Richard will be performing original material and some favorite as he brings over 34 years of acoustical experience to the table. It is a Spirit filled, statically charged musical presentation that is sure to warm your bones and touch your heart.

The presentation in musical form of the Gospel through a mix of Christian contemporary, folk and blues and will impact you long after the last note is played.

Life Line Screening-It is that time of year that will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday, March 18. Please consider the gift of life by donating Blood on February 25, at St. Paul’s Church from 1-5 pm.

Lois Scott is instructing Painting Classes on February 24th from 6-8 pm. A small fee is charged and materials and paints are supplied. No experience is necessary. Come, have a fun filled evening, and amaze yourself.

The church will be having a Chicken and Waffle Dinner on March 22 from 3 to 6 p. m. (eat in or take out). Costs are Adult $9; Children ages 5-9 $4; and Children under 3 are free. The dinner will include chicken in gravy and waffles, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, beverage and dessert. Pysanky Egg classes will be offered again during Lent at St. Paul’s Sundays, February 23rd to April 13th 2014. Beginners are welcome! There is a sign up list and a materials list on the table outside Pastor’s office. There is a one-time cost of $6.00 for materials Ginny supplies. Ginny Hildebrand has been decorating Pysanky on and off for 30 years. She knows many ways to destroy an egg and learns new ways each spring. She has also created quite a few keepers, and looks forward to introducing you to this beautiful folk art form.

Evening Bible Study class will be held at 7 pm to discuss the, “Book of Faith” on February 24th.

On Friday and Sunday Nights, AA meetings are scheduled at 7 pm, Thursday nights NA meetings are held at 6 pm. and on Wednesday nights a Weight Watchers group meets at 6:15pm.

Open to the Public: Every Monday at Wright Manor in Mountain Top, a Bible Study with Pastor Michelle Kaufmann at 2 pm.

Food Bank is open Every Friday of the year, from 9:30am-12 pm.

1st Holy Communion Class Forming-Lent begins Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Students who are currently in 2nd grade or older, who have yet to complete 1st Holy Communion classes, are asked to contact the Church Office. Classes will be scheduled accordingly, and they will need to complete the classes in order to receive their 1st Holy Communion on April 17, 2014.
