The Mountain Top Welcome Club will hold its February meeting on Thursday March 20 at noon at the Mountain Top Presbyterian Church, 9 Chestnut Street. Lunch will be available for $8 and babysitting will be available for $4 per child. New members are welcome and your first meeting is complimentary. The Crestwood School District and Mountain Top Relay for Life will present the 6th Annual Hoops for Hope at Crestwood High School March 18th. Doors open at 5:15pm. Games begin at 6:15pm Teachers, students and law enforcement will participate in a charity basketball event. During the games, teams from the Mountain Top Relay for Life will have individual tables selling various items in the cafeteria. T-shirts can be purchased by March 10th for $8 by calling Dawn at (570) 262-6229. At the conclusion of the games, names will be pulled to cover a teacher in silly string. There will be a Chicken and Waffle Dinner at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mountaintop, on March 22 from 3:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. (eat in or take out). Costs are Adult $9; Children ages 5-9 $4; and Children under 3 are free. The dinner will include chicken in gravy and waffles, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, beverage and dessert. The folk at Emmanuel are selling delicious hoagies, Italian or turkey, for $5.00 each. They will be ready for pick-up on Saturday, March 22, at noon, just in time for a quick lunch. On Sunday, March 23, there will be a vendor bingo in the cafeteria at St. Jude School. Doors will open at 1 p. m. Bingo starts at 2 p. m. Featured vendors will be Vera Bradley, Longaberger baskets, Tastefully Simple, Park Lane jewelry, and more. The cost is $20 for 20 games plus $1 specials games.
