The Luzerne County Community College Schulman Gallery will hold an exhibit of art created from recycled materials.
Artists are needed for the upcoming exhibit which will feature artwork made by community members from traditional art supplies, recyclables, and trash. Art can be submitted by filling out a submission form on the Schulman Gallery’s website. Deadline for submissions is Saturday, March 22.
“ArtCycled: A Recycled Art Exhibit” will open with a reception on Friday, April 11, from 6 to 8 p. m., and will continue through Thursday, April 22.
According to Schulman Gallery
curator Alison Schmidt Carson, the exhibit is designed to increase awareness of the importance of recycling programs, as well as the awareness of the significance of art and culture in society. “Our goal is to promote environmental art to all, while expanding our understanding of recycling programs in Luzerne County and beyond,” notes Schmidt Carson.
