St. Mary’s Plans Bazaar 2014 Emergency Meeting March 24

St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Gerald Shantillo, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

The Light is on For You: Confessions heard every Monday during lent from 5:30-7pm at Saint Jude Church.

The Youth Group will meet next Sunday, March 23 from 6-8 pm in the dining room. Updates can be found on our Facebook page; Saint Mary’s of Dorrance Youth Group. This is a private page for students, parents, and parishioners.

Bazaar 2014 is planned Saturday, June 21 -4-11 pm, Mr. Echo 7-11 pm; and Sunday, June 22 -4-10 pm, Flash Back.

Do you want to have a bazaar this year? An Emergency Meeting will be held Monday, March 24 at 7 pm

Chair people are needed Co-chairs for all stands are very welcome. No prior experience needed! Assistance will be provided.

The Altar and Rosary Society ladies are selling beautiful Palm Crosses very reasonably priced at $10. Crosses are available after Mass. For more information call Maureen 570.868.3721

The Knights are fishing now for their annual Fish Fry on Friday, April 18. Dinners served 3-7 pm. More details to follow.

St. Mary’s parish is participating in the Loaves and Fishes Program to benefit the Saint Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen. This month’s item is coffee. Baskets are in Church.

The Pro-Life Center in Wilkes-Barre is in desperate need of cribs (sides must NOT go down), swings, high chairs, car seats (not over 4 years old), pack and plays, and white baby blankets for baptisms. Softly used or new. Please call Betty Caffrey if you have these items or for more information at 570-826-1819.

Rosaries will be made at the Wednesday meetings of St. Mary’s Community Outreach Team, which now incorporates the Crochet Group and the Rosary Makers, beginning at 6 pm. The Crochet Group will continue to meet on Sundays at 6 pm. Questions regarding the Team can be directed to Michele at 570-868-0168. Members of Girl Scout Troop 33320 are currently working on their Bronze Award. With the help of the community, they will be collecting household items to be placed in gift baskets. The collection will continue through April 2014.

The parish is participating in CRS Rice Bowl, as a way to encounter Jesus through others, especially through the most vulnerable in our world. Rice Bowls are available at all exits.

There will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive at Saint Jude on Sunday, March 23 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. This drive is being held in loving memory of Sarah Jane Yuscavage. To donate blood you must weigh at least 110 lbs and be feeling well. Students 16 years old may donate with signed parental consent. An appointment sheet is on the table in front of the cry room at Saint Mary’s. For more information call 1-800-RED CROSS.
