Emily Ann Long and Thomas Alan Foy Jr., together with their families, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Blair E. and MaryAnn Long, Slocum Township. She is the granddaughter of the late Stanley and Frances Narsavage, Pittston, and the late Wilson and Florence Long, Penn Hills.

She is a 2003 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and a 2007 cum laude graduate of King’s College with a degree in Environmental Science. She is employed as a Water Treatment Plant Operator with Pennsylvania American Water.

The prospective groom is the son of Thomas Alan Sr. and Marsha Foy, Justus. He is the grandson of Joseph and Helen Novotka, Taylor, and the late Michael and Ann Watkins Foy, Scranton.

He is a 1992 graduate of Bishop O’Hara High School and a 1995 graduate of Johnson Technical Institute with an associate’s degree in Electronics Technology. He is employed as an Automation Specialist with Rexel.

The couple will exchange vows Independence Day, 2014.
