MMI Preparatory School Students Compete At State FBLA Conference

Students from MMI Preparatory School qualified to complete at the State Leadership Conference of the Future Business Leaders of America.

The students received first-through fifth-place finishes during the Pennsylvania Regional Leadership Conference held at Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke and will attend various business workshops and compete in their respective events during the state competition in Hershey from April 7 to 9. Students who place at the State Leadership Conference will attend the national competition in the summer.

The following MMI students placed in the top five at the regional conference and are competing in the state conference in these competition categories: Joshua Narrow, Cyber Security; Alyssa Famalette, Cyber Security; Soprina Guarneri and Gabriellia Nunez Becker, Partnership with a Business; Hayden Francis and Emily Bogansky, Business Ethics; Emily Seratch, Rachel Stanziola and Yusuf Qadri, Special Video Project; Claire Sheen, Mountaintop; Digital Video Production; Maria Carrato, Accounting II; and Alexis Williams and Sarah Jamack, Global Business.

Kate Lengel and Tina Lizbinski are the co-advisers to MMI’s chapter of the FBLA. Lengel will present a workshop during the state conference called “The Wonderful World of Wikis,” which will focus on the meaningful application of wikis for the future business leader.

Stephanie Pudish, Mountianotp, is the Region 16 secretary and will attend as MMI’s member-at-large, an honor given to a chapter that has increased its membership by a certain percentage.

The Future Business Leaders of America is a national career and technical student organization whose mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. The students in MMI’s chapter are a part of the Pennsylvania membership of more than 13,000 in 290 schools.
