St. Jude’s Lists Liturgies Of The Pascal Triduum

St. Jude’s announces Liturgies of the Pascal Triduum. The celebrations will be as follows:

Holy Thursday -Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper -April 17 at 7

p. m: Welcoming the Pascal Triduum, Liturgy of the Word, Washing of the Feet, Collection for the Poor, Liturgy of the Eucharist, Procession to Reservation Chapel, Vigiling and the Pascal fast begins. Night Prayer will be at 10 p. m. in Father Nolan Center.

Good Friday -Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion -April 18 at 3

p. m: Prostration in Silence, Liturgy of the Word, Intercessions for the World, Veneration of the Cross, Communion. Tenebrae Service of scripture and music begins at 7 p. m..

Holy Saturday -The Easter Vigil -April 18 at 8 p. m: Easter Bonfire outside, Thanksgiving for the Light, Proclamation of Scripture. Blessing and Sprinkling of Water, Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Blessing of Easter baskets will take place on Saturday at 1:30 p. m. in the school gym.

The Easter Sunday Resurrection of the Lord Masses will be as follows: St. Jude’s at 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30

a. m., and noon; St. Mary’s at 9 a. m. and 10:30 a. m.

St. Jude Building Bucks will not be sold Easter weekend.

The Parish Center will be closed on Good Friday, April 18 and Easter Monday, April 21. The office will reopen Tuesday, April 22 at 7:30 a. m.

The Pilgrim Virgin Statue will be at the home of Mary and Michael Culkin through April 19. For more information, call Gloria at 868-5346.

Parishioners ages 21 and older are invited to save the date of Friday, April 25 for a Night at the Races in the school cafeteria. Doors will open at 6:30 p. m. Post time will be 7 p. m. The theme is A Run for the Roses. Ladies are invited to wear their Derby hats. The cost is $10 per horse, ten horses per race (includes admission). There is a $5 admission without sponsoring a horse. All proceeds benefit the building fund. Donations of door prizes and gift baskets are welcome.

Parishioners are invited to join the volunteer leadership committee to assist in Vacation Bible School. Please contact Diane Egan at 570-332-2164 if interested.

The following items are needed for the Mt. Top Food Bank: canned fruit, jelly, mayonnaise, peanut butter, carrots, coffee, tea, noodles, syrup, jello, popcorn, and macaroni and cheese. Please drop off the items in the annex part of our church.

Classes will begin soon for the Diocesan religious Award called “The Family of God”. This is for third grade boys and girls. If interested in signing up to work on this medal, or have questions, please call the Parish Center and leave your name and phone number by April 29.

Weekday Masses at St. Jude’s are Monday through Friday at 7 a. m. and Wednesday at 12:10 p. m. Weekday Masses at St. Mary’s are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8 a. m. Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s.
