The Mountaintop Eagle

The Mountaintop Eagle is published weekly on Wednesdays. It is independently owned by Stephanie Grubert.

The Mountaintop Eagle has Special Pages and Features including People, Health and Fitness, Business, Focus on Family, School and Sports, Home Improvement and the Business and Service Directory.

The Mountaintop Eagle is produced with Apple Macintosh computers for editorial and advertising. Deadline is Monday at noon. The paper is distributed throughout Mountaintop on 13 newsstands Tuesday mornings and is delivered by mail to subscriber's homes on Wednesday. The Internet version of the paper is available free to print subscribers and also by paid subscription. It is available by Tuesday evening each week.

The Mountaintop Eagle has a long tradition serving the Mountaintop community since 1970. It is one of the last independently owned and operated newspapers in the region, and maintains its commitment "Dedicated to Quality Community Journalism." Editor and Publisher Stephanie Grubert has been writing the Mountaintop news for 29 years, and has owned the newspaper since 1985.

Kathleen Flower is the Managing Editor of the Mountaintop Eagle. She started with the paper in 1983 as a reporter and now oversees the editorial and final production of each weekly edition.

June York is an experienced advertising salesperson and has been with the paper since 1993. The sales staff also includes Cheryl Weyrauch and Denise O'Connor Manosky.

Irene Lombardo is the paper's talented graphic arts designer for display and classified advertising.

Anneliese Moghul has been a reporter and editorial writer since 1990.

John Wengrzynek is the Mountaintop Eagle's photographer. He has been recording the lives of Mountaintop's residents for nearly 25 years.

The Mountaintop Eagle's many contributors include members of the community and representatives from local civic associations, schools, churches and businesses. News items and announcements are welcome and can be filed through email.

Mountaintop Pennsylvania is located between Interstate Routes 81 and 80 west of the Pocono Mountain Region in the center of Luzerne County. The Eagle's circulation area covers a hundred square mile area between Wilkes Barre to the North and Hazleton to the south and Nanticoke to the west. It comprises most of the Crestwood School District and zip codes 18707 and 18660.

Mountaintop has a population of 18,480 with an average household income of $$59,171 per year. Mountaintop's residents enjoy the peaceful tranquility of small town living within hours of major eastern cities. Recreational opportunities abound including golf, hiking, swimming and camping in the summer, skiing in the winter and a choice of sports and entertainment venues year round.
